Passport and visa photos at the right size, made on your device
Getting the size and framing right is the fiddly part. This tool removes the background with an on-device AI model, puts you on the colour your document asks for, and lines up your head with guides drawn from the official measurements. Your photo is never uploaded, and there's no "pay to remove watermark" trick.

- Digital photo: a JPG at the document's upload size (e.g. 600 ร 600 px for US forms), with an optional maximum file size such as 240 KB.
- 6 ร 4 inch print: 1800 ร 1200 px at 300 DPI with as many copies as fit and thin cut lines. Print at actual size (100%) at any photo kiosk, e.g. Boots, Tesco, Walgreens or CVS.
- A4 sheet at 300 DPI for printing at home.
Tips for a photo that gets accepted
- Plain wall, even light, no shadows. Face the camera with a neutral expression, mouth closed.
- Take glasses off (US photos must not include them, and UK rules say not to unless you have to).
- The chin position is an automatic estimate, so check it sits on the chin line and adjust by dragging or zooming.
This tool helps with size, framing and background, but the issuing authority decides on acceptance. Some online services (such as UK passport applications from your own device) ask for an uncropped photo, so read their instructions.
